Constitutional Convention Kids Mysteries Series

In Philadelphia, summer, 1787 – delegates from 13 independent States are discussing a dangerous new government – in secret!
Follow Betsey Applewright and her new friend Jordan across Philadelphia as they search for a document missing from the secret meeting. If the document isn’t found, the cruel master of Israel and little Sammy will beat them and maybe kill Sammy.
Betsey, scribe to one of the delegates, has never had to make decisions. Must she choose between friends? Can she find the missing plan for a new government in time? Will Betsey be able to save Sammy?
Israel O’Glimmery, indentured servant to cruel printer Cartwright, should have known better than to help those two kids he didn’t know and whose family was cheated out of their land. But he grabbed the little one when the deputies from Virgina weren’t looking, ran away with him, and is risking everything to keep the child hidden—and did the little fella mention gold?
Try to keep up with Israel, his twin sister Jordan, and their friends Betsey and Tom, as they search for a runaway child, sleuth to find a relative in town for the convention, and save a drowned girl. What will happen if the deputies get their hands on those boys before they are reunited with their family? If Isarel can’t save them, will he end up in jail instead?
This comprehensive learning activity is a play for children to perform, adapted from a Ukrainian folktale.
